Acceptable Use Policy
OfferShark is a preparation and real-time assistance tool. It is powerful, and how you use it is your call — and your responsibility. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.
1. Your responsibilities
Before using OfferShark in any conversation, you must confirm that your use is:
- Legal where you are. Laws on capturing or transcribing conversations vary by country and province/state. Some jurisdictions require the consent of other participants before audio is captured or processed. It is your responsibility to know and follow the rules that apply to you.
- Consistent with your own agreements. Employment contracts, NDAs, candidate agreements, and company policies may restrict the tools you can use in interviews or meetings. You — not we — are bound by those, and you must honour them.
- Allowed by the rules of the setting. Do not use OfferShark in proctored exams, professional certifications, licensing assessments, or any other setting whose rules prohibit outside assistance.
2. Prohibited uses
You may not use the Service to:
- Break the law, or capture conversations without any legally required consent.
- Cheat in proctored exams, certifications, or licensing assessments.
- Impersonate another person, or have someone else attend an interview on your behalf.
- Harass, threaten, or harm others, or generate content for that purpose.
- Probe, disrupt, or overload the Service, or attempt to bypass session, credit, or subscription limits.
- Reverse engineer the app, scrape the Service, or resell access to it. Account sharing is not permitted.
3. Fair use of AI output
AI suggestions are generated in real time and can be wrong. Presenting them as your own knowledge is your decision to make within the rules above; we recommend using OfferShark the way it is designed to be used — as preparation, backup, and a safety net, not as a substitute for competence you don't have.
4. Enforcement
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy. For violations that are curable we will normally warn you first; for serious violations (fraud, abuse of the Service, illegal activity) we may act immediately. Purchases tied to a terminated-for-cause account are not refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
