Privacy Policy
OfferShark is a product of TIKAALIK AI LABS INC. ("we", "us"), a company registered in British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what data the OfferShark desktop app and the offershark.ai website collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email support@offershark.ai.
The short version
- Audio is never stored. Session audio is streamed for real-time transcription and discarded. We keep no recordings.
- Your resume stays on your device. Resume files are parsed locally in the app; we never receive the original file.
- We never see your card. Payments are processed by Stripe; card details never touch our servers.
- We don't sell your data. No advertising, no data brokers, no exceptions.
1. Data we collect
- Account data. Your email address and a salted hash of your password (we cannot see the password itself), plus verification status.
- Billing data. Purchase history (plan, session packs, amounts, dates) and a Stripe customer reference. Card numbers are held by Stripe, not us.
- Session content, transiently. During an active session, system audio is streamed to our speech-to-text provider for live transcription, and the resulting transcript plus any screen captures you trigger are sent to our AI providers to generate answers. Audio and screen captures are processed in transit and are not stored by us.
- Resume data, locally. If you upload a resume, it is parsed on your device (in the app itself). The parsed text and its AI-generated summary are stored on your device and used to personalize answers; you can clear them anytime in Settings.
- Usage data. Session counts, remaining credits, and basic diagnostics (app version, OS) needed to run the service and help you with support requests.
2. How we use it
- To provide the service: transcribe audio, generate answers, sync your credits and subscription.
- To bill you and send transactional email (verification codes, password-reset codes, receipts).
- To respond to support requests and keep the service secure.
We do not use your session content to train AI models, and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
3. Service providers
We share data with a small number of processors, only as needed to run OfferShark:
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Deepgram — real-time speech-to-text (audio streamed, not retained by us).
- AI model providers — transcript excerpts and screen captures are sent to generate answers during your session.
- Resend — transactional email delivery (verification and password-reset codes).
- Amazon Web Services — application hosting in the Canada (ca-central-1) region.
4. Retention and deletion
Account and billing records are kept while your account is active and as required for tax and accounting purposes. Session audio is never retained. To delete your account and associated data, email support@offershark.ai from your account email and we will action it within 30 days. Data stored on your device (resume text, settings) can be removed directly in the app or by uninstalling it.
5. Security
All traffic between the app, our servers, and our providers is encrypted in transit (TLS). Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Access to production systems is restricted and logged.
6. Your rights
Under Canada's PIPEDA and BC's Personal Information Protection Act, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Contact support@offershark.ai and we will respond within the timelines those laws require.
7. Children
OfferShark is intended for working professionals and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
8. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and note the new effective date. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
